You would have encountered the word ‘Immigration’ lots of time while applying for a visa or a passport as there are different rules and regulations which allows people to enter and exit the country and based on the laws, you are required to get a clearance certificate from your country or from the country where you are headed to.

Confusion is not about the laws, but the real meaning of immigration. In some countries, there are formalities, which you have to do while applying for a passport. For example, in India, if you provide some documents or certificates like your education degree or if you are a taxpayer etc. then you are not put in the category of ‘ECR’ (Emigration Check Required); but if you are not then you might have problems.

If you are going from your hometown to another country, it means you are immigrating or sometimes emigrating; but if someone is coming to your country from another place or country it means he or she is migrating.

Foreign policies are made keeping the immigration in mind, as there are lots of risks and benefits associated with this word. In addition to this, the relationship of neighbor countries also depends on this word.

For example, if you are planning a trip to Ukraine, Czech, Germany, Australia or any Arab country and those countries for any purpose like business, studies, holidays etc and you are not allowed to enter those countries; their tourism sector will be the most affected one.

Each country promotes tourism because it is the main source of earning a foreign currency, which plays an important role in economy.

Therefore, you must understand the importance of immigration and what types of documents and certificates are needed to clear the hindrance, especially when you do not have higher education, a big business and do not know how to convince the embassies you will come back to your hometown.
